10.And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11.being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12.giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.(1:10) 주께 합당히 행하여 범사에 기쁘시게 하고 모든 선한 일에 열매를 맺게 하시며 하나님을 아는 것에 자라게 하시고 (1:11) 그 영광의 힘을 좇아 모든 능력으로 능하게 하시며 기쁨으로 모든 견딤과 오래 참음에 이르게 하시고 (1:12) 우리로 하여금 빛 가운데서 성도의 기업의 부분을 얻기에 합당하게 하신 아버지께 감사하게 하시기를 원하노라
SUMMARY
People try to take care of " their own salvation” while looking in to the Bible or try to confirm it in the Bible. However, the Bible is not a book that verifies the salvation of certain people or their own justification. This is the same for today's text. The contents of the prayer of the apostle Paul in today's text are the phenomenon that is freely given in a lump to those who have experienced the Pentecost event (Acts 2:1-4). 사람들은 성경을 보면서 ‘자기 구원’을 챙기려 들거나 성경 속에서 자기 구원을 확인하려 든다. 그러나 성경은 특정인의 구원 여부나 그들의 정당성을 확인시켜주는 책이 아니다. 이 점은 오늘 본문에 대해서도 마찬가지다. 오늘 본문의 사도 바울의 기도내용은 오순절 사건(행 2:1-4)이 들이닥친 자들에게 일괄적으로 거저 주어지는 현상이다.
Hence, this ‘for nothing’ shatters ‘one's own effort for himself.' It powders and scatters the human ego, who has volunteered to be the manager of his life (Mat. 21:44). This is what the Holy Spirit, who came down to earth on Pentecost, is doing to the saints. What is produced in the very spot as a result of the work of the Holy Spirit is the “fruit of good work” spoken by the apostle Paul in today's text. 따라서 이 ‘거저주심’은 ‘자기 자신을 위한 자기 자신의 노력’을 박살 낸다. 그것은 자신의 인생의 관리자로 자청해온 인간의 자아를 가루로 만들어 흩어버린다(마21:44). 이것이 오순절에 지상에 내려오신 성령님이 성도에게 행하시는 일이다. 성령께서 일하신 결과로서 그 현장에 생산되는 것이 오늘 본문에서 사도 바울이 말한 ‘선한 일의 열매’인 것이다.
Therefore, when the Holy Spirit, who came down on the day of Pentecost, works, the saints no longer have the inadequacies to fill, so their self-defense system collapses, their tension is relieved, and their regrets and complaints turn into gratitude. Also, at that time, their egos, which have been vividly alive pass through the cross, come down from the position of the protagonist and come to have an eye to see themselves as "the locusts who have no king, yet advance together in ranks(Prov. 30:27)." They move as one 'flow' that proves their 'center' and their 'king'. For these men the light of the gospel of the glory of Chris shines(2 Co. 4:4). 따라서 오순절에 오셨던 그 성령께서 일하시게 되면 성도는 더이상 자신이 채워야 할 미흡함이 남아 있지 않기에 그들의 자기 방어체제는 무너지고 긴장감은 해소되고 후회와 불평은 감사로 바뀐다. 또한 그 때 그들은 십자가를 경유하게 되기에 생생하게 살아있던 그들의 자아는 주인공의 자리에서 내려오게 되고 자신을 “임금이 없으되 다 떼를 지어 나아가는 메뚜기(잠 30:27)”로 볼 수 있는 안목이 들어온다. 그들은 보이지 않는 그들의 ‘중심’이자 그들의 ‘왕’을 증거 하는 하나의 ‘흐름’으로 움직이게 된다. 이런 자들에게 그리스도의 영광의 복음의 광채가 비치는 것이다(고후 4:4).
This is the peculiarity of the Holy Spirit and the mystery of the saints. But no matter how much this mystery is known to them, the glow of the gospel is again obscured when their egos stand against. Because the glow of the gospel comes from the blood of Jesus. 이것은 성령 받은 사람들의 특이성이며 성도의 비밀이다. 하지만 아무리 이 비밀이 그들에게 알려졌다고 할지라도 그들의 자아가 버티고 있으면 복음의 광채는 다시 가려진다. 왜냐하면 복음의 광채는 예수님의 피에서 나온 것이기 때문이다.
The saints are not those who boast that there is a luminous body of the Lord in them, but those who pay attention to what mechanism the light flows through. The core of the structure is the "blood" of Jesus, which is that when the Lord combines the newly emerging self of the saints into the blood(the death) of the Lord every day and burns it, the glow of the gospel shines to the saints by the energy from the burning. 성도는 자기 안에 주님이라는 발광체가 있다는 것을 자랑하는 자들이 아니라 그 광채가 어떤 구조를 통해 흘러나오는지를 주목하는 자들이다. 그 구조의 핵심은 예수님의 ’피‘이다. 즉 주님께서 매일같이 새롭게 등장하는 성도의 자아를 주님의 피에(죽음)에 결합시켜 태워버리면 그 태움에서 나오는 에너지에 의해서 성도에게서 복음의 광채가 빛을 발하는 것이다.
Therefore, the contents of the apostle Paul's prayer in today's text are things that cannot be achieved by the human self. If someone wants to reach salvation while maintaining his self-centeredness, or if he wants the content of this prayer to be fulfilled individually to him, the Antichrist will certainly approach him. 그래서 오늘 본문에 나오는 사도 바울의 기도의 내용은 인간의 자아로서는 도저히 성취 불가능한 것들이다. 만약에 누군가가 자아 중심을 유지한 채로 구원에 이르고자 하거나 이 기도의 내용이 자신에게 개별적으로 성취되기를 원한다면 그에게는 반드시 적그리스도가 접근하게 마련이다.
The examples are those who say they saw the Virgin Mary and were instructed by her. People cheer for these miracles, but the reason why this is what the Antichrist has done is that first, they respect Mary, the mother of Jesus, who is only a flawed human being, as a mediator, second, it is based on knowing knowledge of good and evil, and finally, there is no mention of the Holy Spirit or any intervention of the Holy Spirit in all the manifestations. 그 실례가 성모 마리아를 보았고 그녀에게 지시를 받았다고 하는 자들이다. 사람들은 이런 기적에 환호하지만 이것이 적그리스도가 벌인 일인 이유는 첫째는 흠 있는 한 인간에 불과한 예수님의 어머니 마리아를 중보자로서 존중한다는 것이고 둘째는 그들이 받았다고 하는 마리아의 모든 지시가 악마가 인간에게 심어준 선악을 아는 지식에 근거하고 있다는 것이며 마지막으로 그 모든 발현에는 성령에 대한 언급 혹은 성령의 개입이 전혀 없다고 하는 것이다.
Jesus had earlier defined these people as the "A wicked and adulterous generation who are ask for a miraculous sign! (Mat. 12:39)". They do not have God's view that all the world's affairs of eating, drinking, marrying, buying and selling should be judged by the Son of Man. Therefore, they continue to focus on their own potential with striving toward themselvesvs and continue to move toward their own completion without gratitude. 예수님께서는 이런 자들에 대하여 ’표적을 구하는 악하고 음란한 세대(마12:39)‘로 일찌기 규정하신 바 있다. 이들에게는 먹고 마시고 시집가고 장가가고 사고팔고 하는 모든 온 세상 모든 일이 일괄적으로 인자에 의해 심판받아 마땅하다고 하는 하나님의 관점이 없다. 그러하기에 그들은 자기에게 가능성을 두고 자기에게 매진하면서 감사는 잃어버린 채 계속 완료를 향해 나아간다.
But the saints are those who enjoy the completion that the Lord has already accomplished. Their whole lives have been replaced by the completion of the Lord, so they can endure with joy while appreciating God when they are reminded in the furnace of the Lord, where Jesus entered first, that they are only earthly beings who deserve to die from the beginning. 그러나 성도는 주님이 이미 다 이루신 완료를 누리는 자들이다. 그들의 일평생은 주님의 완료로 교체되어버렸기에 자신들은 처음부터 죽어 마땅한 흙에 불과한 존재라는 것을 예수님이 먼저 들어가신 주님의 아궁이 속에서 일깨움을 받을 때에 그것을 하나님께 감사하는 가운데 기쁨으로 견딜 수 있는 것이다.
